Diollo is a private diary you speak into. Your words are yours. The AI that files them will sometimes get things wrong, and you can correct it. Be sensible about recording other people. This is a beta for a few people we know by name: treat it as one, because data may be wiped.

You are using Diollo because we invited you personally, through TestFlight, as a member of the founder's family. These terms apply to that use. Diollo is not yet offered to anyone else, and you should not pass the invitation on. You must be at least 13.
You record a voice note or type one. Diollo stores it, turns speech into text, and uses an AI model to organise what you said into your own private records. The app is free during the beta. If we ever charge for anything we will say so clearly before it happens; we will not start charging you quietly.
You sign in with your email address, by a link we send you. Keep your phone and your email account secure; anyone who can open that link can open your diary. You can ask us to delete your account at any time (see Leaving).
It stays yours. You own your recordings, your transcripts and everything Diollo builds from them. You give us only the permission we need to run the service for you: to store your content, turn it into text, file it (including through the AI services named in the privacy policy), show it back to you, and keep it safe. That permission ends when your content is deleted.
We do not read it. Nobody at Diollo reads your captures or listens to your recordings, unless you send us one yourself (for example to show us a mistake) or the law requires it. During the beta we keep your recordings on our server so we can improve how speech becomes text; the privacy policy says how and why. If we ever want to use one of yours for that, we ask you first.
You can take it with you. Settings has an export that puts a copy of your whole library on your phone, in a form a machine can read, whenever you like.
Diollo uses AI to transcribe and file what you say. It is good, not perfect: names get misheard, dates get misread, a pub lands as a restaurant. The app shows you what it filed and lets you fix it. Do not rely on Diollo as the only record of anything that matters, and check a detail before you act on it. We are not responsible for a decision made on the strength of a filing mistake.
Diollo is built for your own notes about your own life, spoken by you. Your notes will mention other people; that is what a diary is for, and those records are private to you. Two rules:
If you dictate something that is somebody else's - a recipe method out of a cookbook, a passage from a book - keeping it in your private library for your own use is like copying it into a notebook, and is your own responsibility. Do not use Diollo to republish it.
Do not use Diollo to break the law, to harass or harm anyone, to poke at or disrupt the service, or to try to reach anyone else's data. We can close an account that does.
We work to keep Diollo available, accurate and safe, but during the beta it is provided as it is. As far as the law allows, we exclude implied warranties and are not liable for indirect losses or for loss of data beyond what the export protects. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited - including for death or personal injury caused by negligence - or your rights as a consumer. Our total liability to you is capped at £100, which for a free beta is a formal number rather than a real one.
You can stop using Diollo whenever you like. To delete your account during the beta, email privacy@diollo.app and we delete everything Diollo holds for you - every record, every transcript, the server's copies of your recordings and the account itself - within 30 days, backups included. The recordings on your own phone stay with you; delete the app to remove them. An in-app delete button is being built and will replace the email. We can close an account for breaking these terms, and we can shut Diollo down; if we do, we give at least 30 days' notice and time to export.
We may change these terms. If a change matters, we tell you in the app or by email before it applies and update the date above. Using Diollo after that means the new terms apply.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts have jurisdiction (if you live elsewhere in the UK you may use your local courts).
